As Branch Manager, Jay is responsible for business development and loan production for his Fairway branch in Danville, CA. Jay’s career in mortgage lending, operations and management spans over 25 years.
Jay began his career as a Manager at a finance company in 1988. In this role, Jay managed all facets of branch operations, including sales, underwriting, servicing and compliance. Over his tenure, Jay was one of the best mortgage producers within the entire company.
Jay then spent 15 years in mortgage banking and originations managing large-scale operations and funding billions of dollars in residential loans. He held various positions throughout his tenure, with his last role being Senior Vice President of the Home Loans Division. Throughout the course of Jay’s career, he was actively involved in establishing and maintaining operational strategy and process procedures, workflow systems and production metrics to ensure maximum productivity and cost effectiveness.
After his time there, Jay then founded Lighthouse Lending Solutions, an independent retail mortgage brokerage firm. His company soon became respected as the low-cost provider of loans. Jay successfully sold the company within two years.
After selling his mortgage company, Jay became a Client Services Director for an independent financial consulting firm serving the financial needs of government agencies throughout California.
Prior to joining Fairway, Jay was the Chief Operating Officer for a small mortgage bank in Northern California where he helped scale the company and double production.
Jay earned two bachelor’s degrees from the University of California, Davis in both economics and history (with honors) in 1988. He has held his real estate license since 1994 and takes pride in his focus on utilizing extreme ethics and the utmost integrity in his business dealings. He is active in a number of professional mortgage-related organizations.
Jay has been married to his college sweetheart for over 25 years and currently has a son who is attending Duke University obtaining his doctorate in physical therapy and a daughter who is currently attending Boise State University double majoring in elementary education and special education. In his spare time, Jay enjoys traveling, attending many sporting events and trying new wines.
